A meaningful portion of my professional development in the last decade stems from volunteering and consulting in the public sector.
Section4’s goal is to make elite business education accessible to all. The Principles of Data & Analytics (Spring 2022-cohort) was one of my favorite trainings to date.
This program consisted of five foundational courses in statistics, incorporating recorded videos with live teaching assistants & peer-to-peer discussions to familiarize (or re-familiarize in my case) students with the quantitative tools and concepts underlying data analysis.
The ideal course for professionals or students seeking to gain an understanding of data visualization, especially in the context of presenting data to make a compelling proposition. Eight weeks densely packed with foundational learning (Tufte, Few etc) coupled with hands-on exploration of Python, R, Power BI and D3.js.

Early in my career transition (late 2019), my parents experienced a series of health crises. My father’s were acute & life-threatening, my mother’s discrete & diffuse.
Relocation
Social distancing, travel restrictions & parental health uncertainties, all led me to rent out my home in Maine and rent the 1st floor of my friend’s house in Stonington,CT.

Picked up the threads of my place-based pursuits of building an Accessory Dwelling Unit (TinyShiny), creating a meadow of native plants and rejoining the Eliot Planning Board.
There have been a lot of changes at the Eliot Town Hall since the Energy Model and Dashboard was dreamed up by the Eliot Energy Commission in 2018. I am currently working with the new Town Manager to refine this model to meet his information needs with the skills I have learned in the course of my career transition.
